Sample Papers

Sample papers are “A” papers written by Linfield students who have given us permission to use them. Unfortunately, exactly modeling your paper after one of our samples does not guarantee that you will get an A too. Here are some things you should keep in mind when looking at sample papers:

Remember that assignment requirements can change from semester to semester, so carefully read your syllabus and your instructor’s guidelines for written assignments.

Just because it’s in a sample paper doesn’t mean it’s perfect. We try to catch grammatical, spelling, and APA style errors in the samples and note them, but we’re humans (of the imperfect, stressed-out, overworked nursing student variety!) and can miss things. The instructors who graded the papers may have missed things too. Trust (and use!) your own knowledge and critical thinking skills.

After you’ve written your paper, if you earn an A on it, please consider letting us use it as a sample. It’s nursing stewardship in action!
